International Aid Planning Targeted Response to Cyclone Nargis

As the death toll mounts from the destruction caused in Myanmar by Cyclone Nargis, International Aid is issuing an appeal for financial assistance in order to respond most quickly and appropriately to the disaster.

"We're communicating with our global network of disaster response organizations to assess how we can best do our part in this very serious disaster for the people of Myanmar," said Myles D. Fish, International Aid's President and CEO. "Our first response is to seek financial contributions from our donors to send directly to our partner organizations in order to buy goods needed most by those impacted - and to assist the economic recovery in the region."

Fish said International Aid will work with a broad array of partners to get help to the people who need it most, including the thousands left homeless and injured as a result of the cyclone's devastation.

International Aid, based in Spring Lake, MI, is a Christian relief and development agency that works globally to improve the health of the world's poorest people. It has responded to more than 100 natural and man-made disasters, delivering more than $500 million in supplies and resources.
