It’s amazing the way that God works ALL things together for our good. I’m sure that you’ve seen evidence of this in your very own lives, just as we have seen evidence of it in this organization. Recently while traveling to Liberia, Jim Loeffler, International Aid Medical Procurement Director, ran into Luke, the president of another very proactive NGO. The two men began what seemed to be a simple conversation but quickly developed into something that only God could have planned.
They chatted about the work that each organization had been doing and then focused on specific equipment. Luke quizzed Jim about International Aid’s anesthesia equipment, as one of the current focus’ for Luke and the organization that he serves with is assisting hospitals with surgical equipment, specifically in Liberia, Zimbabwe, Uganda and other African Nations. He asked a lot of questions about International Aid’s capability to provide quantity and quality of machines, and even questioned the sustainability of the machines.
A couple of months following this conversation, God was definitely at work as we agreed to partner with them and committed to a sizable number of machines, based on need and availability. Together, we assembled an anesthesia survey, which was then distributed, to 50 hospitals. So far, 17 surveys have reached us (7 from Liberia, 6 from Uganda, and 4 from Zimbabwe) The customization and prepping of the anesthesia machines and accessories for this organization is planned for over the next several months, but to date we have shipped 4 anesthesia units, 4 are ready to be crated and shipped, with a 9th machine already crated and waiting. More than one half dozen machines are going through the process of cleaning, testing, parts being replaced and accessorizing. Not only providing the machine itself, but oxygen and nitrous tanks, pressure regulators, patient accessories, service manuals and prepping the machines to function on the power grid of the receiving hospital.
You see, God knew what he had planned when Jim left for Liberia that day. And that was to bring these to guys together so that they could connect and TOGETHER do amazing things to reach the world for Christ. Not only did God have the paths cross for conversation that day, but to rekindle a relationship that has now come full circle. It was in the early 1990’s that we used to partner with this organization, but in a different way. We were on the receiving end of the relationship. Their organization donated product to us so that we could distribute it through organizations and others in the mission fields. Now, we are the organization that is able to provide them with the equipment that they need to do what God has called them to do.
As this Story of Hope continues, we will keep you up to date on the equipment placements and the lives that it will touch! Please continue to pray for International Aid, this partnership and the live that will be touched!
