“Finally, all of you, live in unity with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.” 1 Peter 3:8
This week in the West Michigan Community the theme is Unity. Many local businesses and organizations, including us here at International Aid, are preparing to be a part of a 3 day Christian Music Festival. This festival brings in many national Christian Music Artists for three days of worship and glory to our heavenly father who makes so many things possible.
If you’ve ever been to the music festival you know that the number of people in attendance can reach up to 10,000 or more. What an amazing view to see so many believers, all in one place, united in Christ.
If you look further into the crowd, you will see something even greater. Not only is this a sea of believers gathered in one place, but from all walks of life. The barriers of race, gender, denomination and other hindrances are all left at the door.
As I envision this sight at Unity, it makes me think of the 157 partners that we currently work with who are serving in 67 different countries around the world. Our partners are made up of all nationalities, denominations, and serve in areas of even greater diversity …yet we are all united in Christ working towards the same mission.
You see, none of those differences matter when it comes to doing the work that God has called us to be a part of. We can come along side of each other and TOGETHER help change lives. What a blessing it is to know that He has placed us all together in only ways that He can make possible…Unity in Christ.
As we prepare for this event here in West Michigan, we truly thank God for the Unity that we have everyday with our partners and those in need. Whether they are in the field performing major medical procedures, distributing health products and nutritional supplies, or leading “the least of these” to a greater relationship with Jesus Christ, we praise God for these opportunities daily.
Amazing things can truly happen when we all serve together!
