We are connected — far beyond the shallow familiarity of “I recognize your name, you recognize mine.”
We are one in purpose, connected by the life-transforming power of Christ in us. The bond runs deep. Ephesians 4:4-5 (NIV) reminds us, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” We are united as one in Christ!
UNITY. That was the theme of the 2013 Christian Music Festival, an event International Aid was excited to be a part of again this year. We were at Heritage Landing in Muskegon, Michigan on August 7-10, sharing information about our ministry together.
Unity is also the theme of the work we’re doing together on a daily basis! Staff, partners in the filed, corporate donors, churches, financial donors — and many other friends — are glorifying Christ by providing medical and health resources to global partners serving people in need.
From your outstanding prayers and support which helps make our work possible, to our partners in the field, equipped through your compassion and demonstrating God’s love in person … we are all “One in Christ” — a body of Believers working out our purpose together. The impact of our ministry together — a work of unity — is astounding.
When an EF5 tornado ripped through Oklahoma — devastating homes, families, and lives — the love of God was demonstrated through International Aid by providing water bottles, Hygiene Kits and other personal care items, blankets, clothes, food, and more. Our distribution took just a few short days, but numerous lives were changed by your acts of compassion for many days to come.
And this past June, when our President and CEO wrote to our donors about our fiscal year end, multiple donations helped us to finish the year strong. Last fiscal year; $87 million worth of medical and health products was shipped to our 177 partners in 87 countries around the world. Together, we are doing amazing things to reach the world for Christ — and there is no way that we could ever attempt to do this work on our own.
Currently we are working on another opportunity to share the hope, joy, and love of Jesus Christ with a Syrian refugee camp in Turkey. The need there is great. Conflict is raging — approximately 4.5 million Syrians, mostly Christians, have been forcibly displaced from their homes and 93,000 have been killed. At least 1.6 million Syrians have fled to neighboring countries as refugees.
In response to this crisis, we have a long-time partner who is providing ongoing health care, critically needed medical supplies, and urgently needed support for these refugees in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey. International Aid is responding with equipment and products to prepare three medical clinics and four Labs-In-A-Suitcase® which help diagnose undetected common illnesses.
To continue to effectively care for these people, and others in need, our partners in the field need our help! United in Christ, we are compelled to help. But to be able to respond to any situation quickly, we need unity.
International Aid is able to demonstrate the unity of the Body of Christ through the gifts people have made to International Aid. Because of this support, we are able to prepare medical equipment, health products, medicines and nutritional supplements and ship them to our partners who are ready and waiting in the field with great need.
Every $1 you donated to International Aid is multiplied with maximum impact to provide medical equipment, health products, and other urgently-needed goods … coming to the aid of the Syrian refugees of Turkey, mending lives in Oklahoma, changing lives in Liberia, and sharing God’s love with children and families around the world, including here in the United States. International Aid is able to make a tremendous impact. We are “One in Christ,” working out His call to reach the world together.
