On May 20, 2013, a huge tornado wreaked havoc on Moore, Oklahoma, tearing right through the town. It was rated an EF5, the highest possible tornado with 210 mile per hour winds. Two-dozen people lost their lives, hundreds were injured, and thousands of buildings sustained damage—from minor problems to complete destruction.
Thanks to the help of our corporate and individual donors, International Aid was able to respond with a truckload of relief supplies. Everything from extension cords to toothpaste, hammers to hand soap, dog food to blankets…all this and more was shipped to Oklahoma to help those who had lost so much. Although we can’t replace all of the items that the people lost in this tornado, we can help them mend and rebuild their lives.
This devastating tornado gave us another opportunity to share the Hope, Joy and Love found in Jesus Christ, through the distribution of these products. Thanks to our partners who were already working in the area, the placement and distribution of these items was immediate. Hundreds of products were distributed in just a few short days, but numerous lives were changed for many days to come.
Even though we’ve traveled to Oklahoma and back, the work needing to be done there is still great. Please continue to pray for the lives that have been affected by this event and that they will seek to find complete healing in Jesus Christ. Thank you for being a part of our mission with us. Together we are doing amazing things to reach the world for Christ! International Aid…Meaning with Purpose.
