Alongside International Aid's expanding safe-water partnerships with churches, educational institutions, Rotary Clubs, governments, non-government organizations, and other humanitarian groups, are a number of key collaborators that are helping advance our vision for bringing clean water to the world.

International Aid

  • Innovation. Working in conjunctions with its partners and with the inventor of the filter, Dr. David Manz, International Aid pioneered the application of proven BioSand technology in a revolutionary plastic design. International Aid is the exclusive humanitarian and commercial licensee for the HydrAid™ BioSand Water Filter.
  • Commitment. International Aid is committed to training communities in the use of the HydrAid™ BioSand Water Filter, and in fostering local micro-businesses In developing countries dedicated to its ongoing operation and maintenance.

Cascade Engineering

  • Manufacturing. A leader in innovative plastics solutions for a variety of industries, and a strong proponent of sustainable business practices, Cascade Engineering is engineering and producing the HydrAid™ BioSand Water Filter for distribution worldwide.

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

  • Research. A UNC research team, led by Professor Dr. Mark D. Sobsey, has completed a 24-month, large-scale health impact study in Cambodia and the Dominican Republic, which showed BioSand filtration can significantly reduce the incidence of diarrhea, a leading cause of death in the developing world. In addition, three further research studies involving BioSand filtration are underway in Ghana, Honduras and Cambodia.

Dow

  • Sponsorships. Dow is funding a health impact study of the HydrAid™ BioSand Water Filter in Africa. In addition, International Aid and Dow have formed a strategic partnership in which Dow is underwriting the production of 300,000 HydrAid™ Filters by providing all of the plastic resin required for the filter production.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation

  • Sponsorship. W.K. Kellogg Foundation is funding a health impact study of the HydrAid™ BioSand Water Filter in Central America.

Rotary Clubs

Sponsorship and advocacy. Local Rotary Districts and Rotary International are collaborating to bring HydrAid™ BioSand Water Filters to those in need around the world.
