(Note: This blog story is different from most blogs from International Aid. A business partner who recently visited International Aid for the first time wrote this blog. Her experience here was one that she wanted to share with others. I hope you’ll read why.)
Recently, I had the privilege of meeting the team and touring all of the warehouses. Seeing first-hand what International Aid does was really eye-opening and very humbling. It’s incredible to see all that God is doing around the world through this unique organization.
International Aid works with partners on the mission field right here in the United States and in 70 countries around the world. Last year, with God’s help, they were able to deliver $160 million worth of aid. And, each dollar given to International Aid can provide about $100 worth in medical supplies and equipment. How many ministries can do that? $1 = $100 in impact? It’s mind-boggling to think about.
As I walked through the warehouses with Tim, International Aid’s Communications and Marketing Manager, my eyes were filled with tears. I was overwhelmed as I took it all in. Aisles of boxes and crates of various medical equipment, supplies, and other health products piled high on huge industrial racks — literally packed floor to ceiling! Everything is all organized and labeled. I am not sure how many square feet there are within the warehouses but it is a substantial amount — it’s a 1/2 mile round trip to walk through! Definitely a must-see!
It made me realize how much we — living in the United States — take medical care, working equipment, and even basic health products for granted. (If we get sick, we can simply go to the pharmacy down the street. But it’s just not like that for our brothers and sisters living in remote villages around the world!) What an overabundance we have! One might not understand how these things could make such a difference. But through the work of International Aid, it makes all the difference — by providing much-needed medical equipment to the partners on the field, together we can reach people right where they are with the medical care they so desperately need.
I was not only impressed with the sheer quality, quantity, and variety of the medical equipment, supplies, and products that International Aid provides … I was also impressed and inspired by the heart of the entire team at International Aid. Never before have I met such a godly, caring, loving, authentic team of men and women who are filled with joy and faithfully strive each day to serve their partners on the field with excellence. The team at International Aid exemplifies the love of Christ in more ways than words can express.
What God is doing around the world through International Aid is AWESOME. I have no doubt you’d be blessed to be a part of it!
